Hip Hop Appreciation Week started in 1998 and is always celebrated during the third week of May. There are many ways in which people can demonstrate COOPERATION; the Temple of Hiphop encourages people to do: work with individuals and organizations that are working to make their community better; end personal disputes with anyone you may have challenges with; network, build new alliances, form coalitions and partnerships that are mutually beneficial to all; become involved with a neighborhood watch group or community beautification committee; volunteer with non-profit organizations; share your gifts and talents with your community; these are just a few examples of what people can do everyday around the world as a Hip Hop community.
Atlanta has a week full of events showing the spiritual, creative and cultural diversity of Hip Hop, starting with a Pre-HHAW event on May 15th with, “Investing in Our Youth” Seminar at Forest Hills Academy.
